​​Founded on April 4th, 1986, Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. also known as the Lambda Betas or simply the Betas—was established on the enduring principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, Community Service, and Cultural Awareness. Represented by the colors Royal Purple and Pure White, the organization proudly embraces the Red Carnation as it's official flower.

Founded at the University of Iowa, Sigma Lambda Beta has expanded to colleges and universities across the United States, establishing multiple alumni chapters and alumni associations. This remarkable growth has solidified Sigma Lambda Beta’s reputation as the fastest-growing multicultural, Latino-based fraternity in the country.
