Tau Chapter was established on August 12, 1992, by four honorable gentlemen who had the vision to start a new Latino-based Fraternity at CSUDH. With the expansion of Tau Chapter at California State University Dominguez Hills, it made Sigma Lambda Beta a Coast to Coast organization.

Being established at California State University Dominguez Hills, Sigma Lambda Beta was the first Latino-Based organization on Campus.

 

Tau Chapter brothers went on to establish and help several chapters and colonies in California, Arizona, and Washington. Such as, Theta Alpha at UC Irvine, Kappa Alpha at the University of Arizona, Lambda Alpha at San Jose State University, Beta Beta at Loyola Marymount University, Kappa Beta at CSU Long Beach, Omicron Beta at Occidental College, Pi Beta at CSU Los Angeles, Phi Beta at University of Washington, Mu Gamma at UC Davis, Omega Gamma at University of Southern California, Sigma Gamma at UC Santa Barbara, and Pi Deta at UC Riverside.

Since 1992, Tau Chapter has grown to have over 114 members in the organization
